Doggy Lottery.

Meet Lucy. Our new family member. We weren't quite looking for her, yet we weren't quite not looking for her. You know, “if it happens it happens” sort of thing. Every now and then I’d browse online and there were a few close calls, but they didn't quite fit. That’s because we were looking in all of the wrong ways---puppies. I love puppies (who doesn't!) but I wasn't ready to start training another member of our family when I’m still dealing with my own son’s potty training. But then I saw her at our local shelter and I knew it was different.

Our shelter was joining in on the “Just One Day” event that was being held throughout the country. This event is a great one where shelters don’t euthanize any of their animals (unless deemed necessary) for the day. Not only did my shelter join in, they also had a deal on all adoptables—$11.00 dollars and that included everything! (spay, vaccines, a free well visit, and microchip.) This was awesome news.

I went over during my lunch hour to hopefully meet Lucy, and she was there! I was interviewed and was instantly approved. I mentioned having another dog and the shelter and I agreed to a Meet & Greet with Lucy and Jambi after I was off work. I was a nervous wreck hoping everything would work out with Jambi and Lucy. They hit it off! He even lets her lick his face (and he won’t let just anyone touch his face.) Doggy Lottery!!

Everyone loves her here. She is such a doll. I really did win the Doggy Lottery with her—she’s “everything” trained.

Wordless Wednesday

Oh how I envy thee on this rainy and cold day.

Poodle Day Parade + Happy marriage.

It's been like eons since we've had any sort of "family trip." By family trip, I mean the whole family--including the dog. In fact, this trip was based on our dog--sort of. See, I work in the pet field. My bosses groom all sort of furbabies and when my mini family and I were invited to join them for a few days in Monterey, we couldn't say no. So off we all went to the sweet and beautiful bay area called Monterey.

We drove Friday morning, albeit late morning, only to arrive mid-afternoon. This only gave us 2 hours to see all of the wonders that the Monterey Bay Aquarium had to hold. The drive to the aquarium from our hotel was just beautiful.
Cannery Row

This was his reaction to the water fall wall.

Reaction after.

Saturday was just amazing! It was time for Jambi, our Jack Russell-Yorkie Mix, to have some family fun. He saw oodles and oodles of Poodles everywhere. Hence the famous "Poodle Parade." You can see last year's gallery on the Poodle Parade website, but here are two snippets from our trip.

Sesame Street!

The Simpons!

Then it was off to the beach to hang out with. Obviously Michael + sand equals loads of fun as usual. Loads of fun!

This guy is silly. He would run up to meet the waves, but as soon as his little feet touched it, he would back away. lol
Sand + Michael= fun!

What a great way to start our eighth year of marriage.

I was sent home

I was sent home from work yesterday. No, not from misconduct or because I was fire--I've been feeling rather sick the past two days. So once lunch time hit, home I went, well first to pick up Michael from my mom's and then go home. I am so glad that once we finally got home that Michael took a nap--this way I could too (who doesn't love a two hour nap?!) Although yesterday I felt a wee bit better but I still went home. I think it was my lack of sleep the last two weeks from Michael being sick that caused me getting sick too in the end. That picture up there is a glimpse of my drive home. The one below? Jambi, my Jack Russell Yorkie Mix, giving Mama extra love because I wasn't feeling well.

Is he not the cutest?!

Friday Five: My lately's

My Friday Fives for this week are:

1. The Sacramento County Fair is here and I really want to take Michael. Hopefully I can convince Steve to go. Usually he's not into the whole fair thing.

2. This morning, I hopped into the driver seat and something stabbed me. Steve was placing Michael into his carseat so he saw when I jolted back up. Steve helps me out of the car and low and behold underneath the car seat cover--a razor blade. A rusty old Razor blade. It poked my right butt cheek. Although there is no "wound" or blood, I can feel it. My butt cheek is tender. Guess I have to keep an eye out for it.

3. At work, my boss and I are competing to see who sells the most lobby merchandise. Guess who is winning? Yes siree, I am.

4. If you haven't seen, my dog is currently Purple.

5. We had an earthquake last  night in NorCal. Many of us felt it, and others didn't.
To many people, it's somewhat of a joke since it wasn't that "high" on the scale for a freak-out.
This is what is circulating in our local Social Media.

{BEDM} Puppies!

I love dogs. I mean I really love dogs, that it makes sense that I work at a grooming shop (front desk.) I love seeing all the dogs come in. In fact, I was setting up a display when this giant Labradoodle came rushing in and jumped on me--he hugged me guys! There have been many dogs that have come in and just won me over, but none like my dogs.

I've introduced Jambi around here a few times. He's my baby. In other words, he's MY dog where as my other loves were family dogs. Make sense? Jambi is aJack Russel and Yorkie mix. We've had him since he was 6 months old and now he's 57years old (8 years old in our time.) In fact, he just celebrated his 8th birthday with Michael. We don't know the exact date of when in April, but April is definitely his birth month.

Here he is in his Security Guard uniform.
He was 1 year old here.

 Look at that face!

Right now, he's semi-blue and do for a hair cut!

 See? Hair cut time!

But you changed that all for me. Lifted me up, turned me round.

Have I ever mentioned my huge love for dogs? I love dogs! All sizes and breeds. Dogs have always been in my family and life since I was a young little girl. Ever since I could remember we have had dogs and there wasn’t a time where one wasn’t present. Since this was true for my life, it was only fitting that I would get a dog as an adult as well. This is where you guys get to meet Jambi.

Jambi was given to me as a puppy from my mother in law. She had gotten him from who knows where. This little dog was so tiny and just scraggly looking. Now, he’s a feisty little fire cracker who is six years old (in human years.) I had no idea what breed he was. All I could decipher was that he looked like a Jack Russell yet his fur wasn’t coarse like one, it was soft almost hair like (Yorkie’s and Maltese are a few with said type of fur.) The more I researched the more I discovered that he was in fact a cross breed between a Jack Russell and a Yorkie. I finally understood more about Jambi than before.

Now that we have our first human baby :) Jambi has become Michael’s dog. I love how gentle and nurturing Jambi is with Michael. Even while Michael was in my womb, Jambi would curl up (like a cat!) on my lap and just snuggle up against it.  He loves Michael and Michael loves him. This is what our lives are about.
