Lifeisms

My morning? Yes, it went something like this:

For the past few days, Ive tried making it a goal to be at work about a half hour earlier, each time, traffic gets me--no matter the time I leave. Today, my timing was going perfect! Then I stupidly left my coffee on top of my car. It is now somewhere on Fruitridge Road as I was headed to my mom's to drop Michael off. No bueno. At my moms, I frantically search for a coffee or equivalent to satisfy my morning addiction. Luckily my BIG little brother, Daniel, bought me a coffee.

Bad luck, but awesome family!

  • I have been without a husband for the past two nights. Tonight marks night number three. No, he’s not off being some sort of hooligan, but he is doing security (we own our own security unit) for a festivity for Cambodian New Year.  Luckily tonight is the last night and I get to have him back.

  • Today I thought I had died. While I went to an appointment at the mall, my husband was with Michael at the wee one’s playground. When I came back, I could see the frantic look on my husband’s face as I asked, “Where’s Michael?!” It’s when he didn’t answer that my heart stopped and all I could do was survey the area. It was like those movies where everyone and everything is going in slow motion. Michael was standing next to the gumball machines.

  • Speaking of the terrible no good day, my iphone decided to spasm on me. For some unknown reason, the external speaker went out. I had to make an appointment (the one mentioned above) to get the speaker switched out. My day was going to the $#!%$

  • I became responsible today and was very proud for it too! We had to go to the local Outlet Mall to switch out some dress shirts for my husband and while there we gave a looksie at the Coach outlet. It took everything I had inside me to not purchase anything. Instead of grabbing the bag that I had been longing for, I decided to not go bankrupt and forego purchasing it. Instead, I will set the money aside little by little and purchase it then. Yes, that bag will be mine in a short few months.

  • Last week we had Michael’s speech evaluation. He needs it. Tomorrow he has an appointment with his primary doctor regarding said session. Hopefully he can send that referral soon so we can get started on these sessions. I am so eager to start!

{Life-isms} Last week of March

Here’s another round of life-isms…

sick-me

-I woke up yesterday with my nose running like the faucet. I thought it was allergies and ended up taking allergy medication only to find out that it did nothing for me. I have been struck with the cold.

- I need a hair cut. It’s been since October since I last got one. I just need a trim. Problem is, I have no one to watch Michael while I go do this.

- Speaking of haircuts.. I spilled my coke all over the couch, my phone, and my laptop. It also landed on my lap and hair. I’m debating on whether to take a shower to get the ickiness off, but then again, I’ll have to take one after I get my haircut. That would make three showers today.

- I saw on Pinterest that if you have a heart of romaine stub, you can place it in water and watch it grow. I’ve had one in there for two weeks now. It’s getting pretty tall.

- I’ve got exactly one week until Michael’s birthday party. I have only purchased table linens, candles, and cake plates. I still need food, drinks, food plates, the cake, etc. Why am I lagging? The weather calls for rain and we have planned for our party to be at the park. I’m going to have to do everything last minute to see if it will rain or I’m going to have to use Plan B. Have it at home. Boo!

Weekend recap + Life-isms

Thank goodness for train rides at local shopping plazas. They are what seem to keep Michael entertained while waiting for the rest of your family to show up for a birthday dinner. We all decided to eat at Dave and Busters. If you don’t know what Dave and Busters is, it’s basically a Chuck E Cheese for the entire family. However, the nearest one to us is about a half an hour away, but fortunately for us, we were about 7 minutes away. This meant we had to wait until every one got ready and drove out to where we were…which is why I was thankful for the train rides.

TrainRides

That was on Sunday, but on Saturday we had a teeny tiny mini sized party of 4 and a half. It was us three plus two more to watch the Bernard Hopkins fights. Wha?! Yes, my husband is a GIANT boxing fan and gradually I too am becoming one. So we had some company to see B-Hop win the fight and be the oldest boxer to win a major title. During one of the rounds, I discovered that my phone had been taken over by Michael. This is what I found—all 50 of them, identical. Plus many videos, of him squealing for 10 seconds. Ha ha! He sure does love the camera.

Life-isms:

I have never been so happy to buy an appliance! We bought a washing machine this weekend because ours broke (the last rinse cycle didn’t completely drain all the water, so we had to wring it by hand.) I’m somewhat over it now.

Jambi needs a hair cut—bad! I keep looking at him and keep thinking, “Tomorrow I will do it! For sure!” Tomorrow never comes.

Does anyone ever say “For Sure” anymore? Nope? Okay, it’s just me then.

Whenever I order something online and don’t quite like it, instead of returning it, I force myself to use it and see if that changes my mind. Yep, this is how hoarding begins.

I have about 10 books in my kindle app that I intend to read. Someday. Yes, someday.

I went to In&Out last week and for the first time ever I ordered my cheeseburger non animal style. I can’t remember when I just had their original cheeseburger. You know what? It was the best cheeseburger ever!

I bumped my knee on the coffee table earlier. I caught myself whispering, “Sana! Sana! Colita de rana.” (Spanish for, “heal! Heal! Little frogs tale.”) Wanna know something? It actually felt better.

Lily’s Lifeisms…

Lifeisms

It’s been a while since I last touched this series. I actually missed them.

- I’ve been watching Who’s The Boss like some soap opera junkie. It’s on Season 8. Now that I start working in a few days, I’m going to miss the season I actually missed when it first came out. Talk about De Ja Vu!

- I just “discovered” the wonder that is Amazon. I know I am late in the game, but I have been shopping like crazy. Ha! I’m not buying twenty dollars of something, rather I am just buying things I may like/want for a few pennies (new cover and screen protector for my phone for only 4 dollars? Yes Please!)

- When someone tells me a secret, be warned—my best friend and husband don’t count. Ever!

- Michael turns two in less than two months. I am going in panic mode trying to get everything prepped and planned for his birthday. I hope I don’t go in total melt down again. Eep!

- Our kitchen blew a fuse. We had to re arrange the fridge and dinning table so we could plug it in. Luckily we have a gas stove and until it’s fixed, we have to “ghetto it out” and light up the burners individually. I really wanted to bake a cake (wha?!)

- Stevan and I have been having date nights at home. This is particular fun when Michael is in bed. We turn off all of the lights, grab a glass of wine (me) and beer (him or he may have wine too), we’ll pig out on popcorn or chips, all while watching a Disney Movie. My kind of night!

- I’m a “take a shower in the morning” kind of gal. I’ve tried a few times to shower at night so I can lessen the heat damage to my hair, but I always end up showering anyways to wake up. I’ve done the whole shower cap thing but I just don’t feel clean enough when I do.

Well there you have it folks. My lifeisms. Do you have any?

This weeks “Life-isms”

drawsomething

  • Earlier this year, we bought a tablet. It’s a Sony. It’s pretty fun, which then made me crave for an iPhone. Which to me was just awesome since I cannot put it down. Hence Draw Something. I cannot put it down! Now, if I were to want to draw on my own, whether it’s an app or on paper, I just won’t. I like drawing for people—and quite frankly I think I’m “somewhat” good. Ha ha! (Ride-The-Spiral is my username)

  • Since we all just “moved” around here, I had to wait for our local cable company to install cable. Now that I have it, I’m mostly online (when I get the chance.) Go figure!

  • I’m 32 years old. I’m not liking it at all. Maybe because it doesn’t feel like my birthday ever came. No cake or candles this year. Boo! Definitely going to try and go sometime in the next coming weeks (after we settle in) somewhere to eat for my “birthday.” I don’t care if it’s New Years, I’m still celebrating.

  • It’s raining tomorrow. I am so looking forward to it. Hot cocoa time! That, and I get to snuggle up with my little dude.

  • I heard these today. Makes you wonder:
- Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?
- Why do doctors leave the room while you change?  They're going to see you naked anyway.
- Why do banks leave both doors open and then chain the pens to the counters.
- You know that indestructible black box that is used on airplanes? Why don't they make the whole plane out of that stuff?!

It’s almost Friday!!

A new series called “Life-isms”

WeirdMom

  • Michael woke up at 5:30 this morning. The sun was still sleeping, why isn’t he? This meant I too had to drag my lazy butt and start my day. All morning I kept announcing that I would nap when he did. Why am I online instead?

  • I love my brothers. Seriously. Yesterday Luis and I “fought” like kids over his new phone. I held up in the air and said, “Reach it if you can!” Knowing very well that he is about a foot taller than I am. He then snatched the phone away from me and taking mine in the process—this ensued my running all over the living room trying to get my phone.

  • I’m moving. Well, technically I’m not moving, but I am moving. See, my parents are buying a house and leaving me my “teenage home.” When this started, my husband and I moved in with my parents (yes, Michael came too) while they found a new place. This one is all paid off and they want the new place to be used as a rental (bank terms means that they must live there for at least a year before they can rent out the new place…so we each get a new place.) Now it’s almost time to take everything out of storage and into my childhood home. New beginnings.

  • I miss work. Not really, I just miss the environment of talking to grown ups. Luckily I get that here with my family on their days off, but those will be gone too, soon.

  • I sent my husband off to work with some coffee. Unfortunately, I didn’t screw on his coffee mug lid tight. His dress shirt had it coming though. (I don’t like it.)

  • Did you know that my birthday is in less than two weeks?! Yep. I’m looking forward to it, then I remember how many candles there will be on the cake, and I keep telling everyone I will be turning 29 forever.

  • My husband wants another kid. I’m on the fence. I would love a new baby but I just started sleeping all night long. I missed it. Don’t know if I am ready to give that up yet.  Decisions. Decisions.
