Baby's first zoo visit.

Ever since I found out I was pregnant, I had dreamed about going to the zoo with my family. I wanted everyone to go as we all shared in Michael's very first visit. Actually, part of that dream included the San Francisco Zoo, however, we weren't able to go for one reason or another, but this was a very well received substitute.

Everyone gathered at my parent's house and then headed off to the zoo. We arrived and started off Michael's first zoo adventure at the Reptile House. There we saw a wide variety of lizards, tortoises, and snakes. A few were dormant, while others were hanging off a branch ready to show visitors what they do best--hang around. Soon after we walked on over to see the newly remodeled Giraffe Encounter. I was very excited over this since I could take Michael to meet and feed the beautiful creatures. But alas, he was asleep, so we just stood there and watched the giraffe's come up to the balcony as visitors went up to feed them. One by one, each giraffe took their food from the palms of the people. Next time, I will join them. Around the corner was the chimp exhibit. The Chimps are everyone's favorites, along with the tiger that was not too far. Speaking of which, the tiger had decided to be cooperative, despite the heat, and just lay out on the window seat that the zoo has laid out for him. There, visitors can have a closer look and even pose with the tiger, if he is willing. We took a few snapshots as this was a great "keep sake."

We saw a great deal of amazing wild life there and I could go on and on about who and what we saw, but I'll stop there. I know Michael slept for a portion of the visit, but I am sure one day he will look at the pictures and actually say "Hey! I did go!"--and it won't be his last.

10 Things I Love About My Michael....

When I was pregnant, I had decided to join a pregnancy forum. This forum was precisely made for women who were pregnant in April, just like I was. I thought it would be great fun, and informative mind you, to learn about  these pregnancies as I was learning about mine. Now that we have "graduated" from our pregnancies, many of those women have started "Mommyhood Blogs" to chronicle their every day life stories about their new life.  One of the ladies from that forum had an entry on her blog that I absolutely love, aside from that, I also love the concept behind her blog: Love Letters to Sophie, in which her entries are written in letter form for her daughter. Love it!

1. I love when we wake up in the mornings, you look at me and smile. That's when I turn to you and say, "Good Morning!" Your smile gets even bigger. It melts my heart every time.

2. I love when you coo at me after your nap. It's like you are telling me about your dreamland adventures.

3. I love it when you get excited over feedings. You know that it's feeding time when I place your bib or a spit rag around your chin.

4. I love how you look at me when I walk into your room. It's the fact that you know who I am that makes me go ::swoon!::

5. I love how you have gone from crying like a lunatic to actually enjoying your bath. You have matured so much in such a small time frame.

6. I love how you cling to me when I lay you on my chest. It's a bond that only you and I share.

7. I love the way that you let me take pictures and videos of you. One day you won't like these things, but I am glad that I can hold on to these precious moments, at least in this way.

8. I love how excited my family is over you. It is such a blessing to know that you are so loved by many.

9. Did I ever tell you how much I love the way you smell? I don't think I've ever smelled anything sweeter, even when you have a dirty diaper.

10. I love that you let me sleep an extra hour when you lay next to me. You "talk" to me while I do so. Thank you!

Hello!

Why hello there!

Tummy Time Mat.

I'm in quite an awe over how in a week, Michael will be exactly two months! This is just insane to me how quickly he is growing up. I guess it's safe to say that the cliche of "Hold on to them, they grow up so quick!" is very true. I know he's still a "newborn", but every day, he looks that much older to me. It's rather a sad emotion and yet a proud one.

Right now we are working with his Tummy Time Mat. He doesn't like it at all, but it's because he gets frustrated over not being able to control his neck muscles quite well. He'll get there. We had a good day yesterday when we were working on it, so I snapped some pictures. Not only has he been working with his mat, but he's also began "talking" (cooing) and smiling as a reaction. I love having conversations with him and getting a smile as a response, it melts my heart. I can't wait for more milestones.

Getting our walk on.

We all know that when Spring arrives, along comes allergy season. Every year my husband and I suffer along with millions of other people. These dreaded allergies never let us enjoy the nice warm California weather, especially when in our neighborhood we have has a nice trail down the street that we can enjoy. So yesterday we decided to be brave and endure the attack of pollen and weeds in order to take Michael on his first neighborhood tour--which we loved and he slept through. Ha!
