busy bee

My life is going "busy bee" mode right now. I love it. I've been "lounging around" for way too long. Yesterday I baby sat my little nephew and Michael and I had a blast! I stopped doing my daily housewife chores (lol) and took the kiddos outside so we can play. I took Michael's table and chair set he got for Christmas and the two toddlers had snack time outside. It was so cute! I baby sat Gabriel for from 10am until 7pm. It sort of gave me an insight of what life would be with another child (and the idea of how it would be with packing up the car with two toddlers by myself--not fun.) At least I know I can manage.

Today I had a refresher course at work. I still can't believe I will be going back to work after so long. I'm just glad I was able to spend the first year, heck two years basically, with Michael. Those are the most precious. Anyways, back to work. Literally. I was a bit nervous since I swore I thought I forgot everything. I'm glad I didn't because I was able to man the computer system and phone like I only went on a mini vacation. I start next Friday and hopefully everything goes great. I'm still a wee but nervous since I'll be myself already with the bather there. Here goes nothing. After that refresher course, Michael set out on a walk. "Gars!" were everywhere and he made sure I knew it!

Tomorrow, we have a date night with a mutual friend. He's taking us out to dinner. Free food is always great! Especially when it's a restaurant you love. I am salivating over the Posole they make. Let me just tell you that Posole isn't everyone's cup of tea when it comes to making it. I've had many variations of it and only my Mama and this place I will eat the entire bowl. Oh so yummy! Then, like most people in America, we will be attending a BBQ. We may not watch the 49ers play, we aren't football fans (gasp! I know!!) but we do love gatherings. So Food, food, and food

There’s something I forgot to show you….

Since the posts seem to be of “Michael is walking finally!” lately, I thought I’d post a video that my brother, who was seeing it for the first time, recorded. Plus, a video of how my nephew and Michael play—with my mother’s curtains. Ha ha!

Best Friends Forever

I love hearing babies babble. Especially these two! You can hear these two doing just that. It’s hilarious how these two can talk up a storm and telling the other jokes –usually it’s Michael saying “Dah. Dah. Dee-ler. Deeler.” and Gabriel just chuckling away. These two crack me up!

I always wondered how Michael would get along being the only baby within our families. The youngest baby before Michael is only a month older than he is, yet we rarely see her. On my side, well, Michael is the first grandchild/nephew, that was until 6 months into our pregnancy did we learn that my brother would be becoming a father. Then there were those awkward months where these two couldn’t interact until now. Now they play, giggle, and talk in secret baby language,

Right now we are off for 4 days for the holiday weekend. This means that Michael won’t see Gabriel for those few days. You can tell that he gets lonely and bored without him. Sure he has many adults right now willing to hug, tickle, and play patty cake, but it’s not the same when your BFF (best friend forever) is gone for a few days. Especially since you get used to seeing him every day at 8am every morning…right when you wake up.

This just reaffirms my idea of wanting to enroll him into daycare once he is 2 years old. I want him to be social. I want him to share. I want him to play with other kids his age. By joining daycare for only 2 days a week, I’m sure he can get those skills he will need for pre-k. This, his playing with Gabriel, is just a small step. An important step towards daycare. Wow. Day care. Am I really talking about that? I guess time is flying by….

Summer is here!

The first signs of Summer are starting to show up. Like today, it was quite warm (85*degrees) and after house hunting a bit (my parents are buying a new house) we decided it would be a nice treat for the babies (Michael and his 6mos old cousin Gabriel) to play in the kiddie pool a bit. This was their first time ever in a pool (bathtubs don’t count) and they loved it! Definitely can’t wait for summer be fully here.

Family Time

Steve has been working so hard these past few weeks that it's been almost impossible to have some family time. Today I let him sleep in for almost 10 hours (I would have let him sleep in longer but I needed him to watch Michael so I could make lunch) that he woke up in such a great mood that we ended up taking a walk after lunch. We decided to walk to the main street and then see where that led us--a park. I've seen the park before but I've never actually visited it before today.

Getting ready to head out.

About to head down the slide.

I've also added some random pictures from earlier in the week for fun. :)

Every time I see this, this lyric pops into my head:
"They see me rollin', they hatin' " LOL

I'm an Auntie!!

Today, at 12:42pm, I became an Auntie for the very first time. Yes, I have about 11 nieces and nephews, but those were inherited to me via marriage. It's not the "same." My brother Carlos and his girl friend Haley delivered their first child--Gabriel Isaiah. He's beautiful. He weighs 10 and a half pounds and at 21 inches. He's such a big boy! I cannot wait for play dates with Michael. Both Haley and I are so ecstatic for the days ahead for us. Michael seems to share in the excitement today, and now is so pooped from it.

I've been anticipating this day since I found out that my brother was going to be a poppa. It was then when I realized that I was going to be an official aunt. It's still a bit surreal. I was the last one left without a "nephew" and when this week arrived, I tossed and turned with excitement. I really can't wait to get to know the little man!
