Summer time is Adventure Time + Review

We are finally done with Summer School and Swim Classes. It has made our lives quite busy these past couple of weeks. I'm really hoping that now that Michael has a break from school that he takes well to the change. Here's hoping for a great start next week!
Now that Michael is 5 and he’s a lot more verbal, I thought we should have more adventures together. It’s not easy having a child who is on the Spectrum (regardless where he may fall on it) because it makes day-to-day life quite unpredictable. Some days we could have a picture perfect day out and it gives me hope to be able to venture out again. Then we have days where one thing triggers a meltdown and you have the entire section at Target or Wal-mart staring at you. Those are the days that aren’t fun—especially for him. BUT!!! We are going to take it one day at a time and hope for the best. Summer vacation is when memories are made, and we inted to do just that.

Now since I gave you a small update, I’d thought I’d tell you about a box I received. It’s the Bonita VoxBox and I am so excited to review it. So far I’ve had the Fiber One Brownies. It’s quite rich and oh so delicious!! I’m really eager to try out the Dickson’s Hydrating Toner that I recieved. More than likely it will be to help clean my face tonight before bed. Two hair treatments were in the box too, they are the Madam C.J. Walker Protein Treatment (it’s a pre-wash treatment) and the Wonderful Deep Conditioning. I have a BBQ tomorrow which I am sure I will use it for that. Two lip samples from Revlon’s Ultra HD and Super Lustrous Collection came as well, again hopefully I’ll love the swatches and purchase them. The colors are right up my alley. Last but not least was a Sinful Colors Nail Polish from the Kylie Jenner line: Porcelain Matte in Mad matter. That’s going on tonight on my fingers. Here’s a quick look at what I got:

Fiesta Vox Box via Influenster

Earlier this month. Or was it last month? I forget. I received a wonderful box from Influenster (Fiesta Vox Box.) I was selected to try products and give them my real honest opinion. Not hard since a lot of the items were items I was already familiar with.

The first item was a make-up item. This brightened up my day to see it in the box. I already owned this product and I can tell you that I love it! It's really affordable and just a holy grail for many make-up enthused people. It's the New York Color Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny 720. It's the perfect shade to contour and to add a little color. A small tip, after you contour, add this in your eyelid crease to add instant shadow. It looks amazing on everyone. It's well under $5.00 and aside from being great to your wallet, it's also quite comparable dupe (Dupe = duplication) for Benefit's Hula which around $28.00. See what i mean?

Body lotion was my second item in the Fiesta VoxBox. Who doesn't love lotion? Who doesn't want soft skin? I know I don't and was glad that I was able to try out Suave's Smoothing with Cocoa Butter & Shea Body Lotion. The scent was light, which I loved, and it did help with the dryness that this "It's cold in the morning and hot by the afternoon" kind of weather we have been experiencing. So it fit great in our little family.

A couple of food items were in the Fiesta Box too. Which I didn't get to enjoy. Let me tell you why. The first one was a protein bar that my kid decided it was for him and said he loved it. I'll take his word for it. It was the Premier Protein Bar in Chocolate Chunk. Yep, that was gone before I even realized it. The other two were coupons to redeem at my local grocery store for Orowheat Whole Grain (my husband's favorite, so he was excited to try a type of bread through their line) and Daisy the Sour Cream (I'm lactose intolerant, so I couldn't really do a feedback on this one.)

The last two items I wasn't quite a fan of. One item was a set of Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Shampoo and Conditioner samples. It wasn't a good fit for my hair. I tried it and during the lathering portion of my shower routine, I had to rewash it with my own shampoo. The second item was the Boots No.7 Dry skin night time cream. I couldn't try this since my skin is quite sensitive. I had to leave that one alone. #sorrynotsorry.

Well, those are my honest reviews on the Fiesta Vox Box.

Pan: The Fearless Beribolt (app review.)

A little bit ago... okay, a while ago,  I was contacted by Hullabalu. At that time, we were asked to share our lives with one of their little pals...we chose Samson. Our lives couldn't be better. Now, we have been asked to try out Hullabalu's newest baby:  a touchable story book app featuring Pan,The Fearless Beribolt. 

I wanted to try out the app. on my own and see what it was about. I don't know about you, but I played around with Pan during a few breaks at work. It was fun, although I am sure that a few people kind of gave me the side-eye since the app is geared towards the wee ones. But anyways, the story of Pan features beautiful eye catching images. I really loved the art in each scene, which was one of my favorite aspects of the app.

{Influenster} “Fresh Infusion” by Palmolive.

When I was a kid dishwashing was a chore. It still is. However, as a kid I always remembered my mother using the dark green dish detergent by Palmolive. These days, I hope from brand to brand trying to figure out what works best for my little family. Palmolive is one of those brands that I tend to come back to often.
When Influenster asked me to try out Palmolive’s new line called “Fresh Infusion” I was delighted. Lucky for me, the trio arrived right as I was running out of dish soap. Ha! Psychic are we now?! I used the yellow one titled “Lemon and Thyme.” If you know me personally, I love lemons whether it’s the taste or smell so I had to try this one.  Although the chore of washing dishes is something I will always loathe, this new line makes washing those pesky dishes a bit more pleasant.

Some of the notes I had when I was testing these are:

-Smells wonderful not like “dish soap.”
-The look of the bottle is just so pretty. I won’t want to hide it.
-It’s available at Wal-mart, so almost anywhere.
-I was actually excited to actually have a dish washing session! Ha!
-It’s a brand I trust so I know it will work for my family and I.

BYou {Be You Own You}

Being a teenager is hard now a days. Being a tween girl is even harder. So much of our world has changed since I was a kid. Everywhere you turn there is some form of pressure trying to lure girls to look and dress a certain way (skinnier and sexier.) This shouldn’t be this way. Girls should be told it’s okay to be little girls and not told to grow up so quickly. Which leads me to this…



A few weeks ago I was contacted by BYOU about their magazine. It’s a great magazine geared for little girls and tween girls. The magazine teaches girls that it’s okay to be who you are and how self esteem is important. As soon as I opened the sparkly purple envelop and saw the magazine, I knew it was special.  This is the sort of magazine that I would let my daughter (if I had one) read. In fact, if I were 20 years younger I definitely would have picked it up to read.

The magazine contains stories about tween girls and how inspirational they are. There are crafts,quizzes, and horoscopes. Beauty tips just like the other magazines as well as an advice column. How great is that?! All of the advertisements are all age appropriate as well.

RazBaby Vapor Raz Clip & Pacifier Holder

(It comes with two pads that release the calming scent of Eucalyptus & Menthol. All you do is add the pad and clip it on baby’s clothes. The clip has a strap for a pacifier if your baby uses one. Each aromatic pad lasts up to 8 hours!)

Michael is sick. Actually we both are. Steve is the only one immune to whatever bugs have been going around lately, which is okay since he is the one who has to go to work every day.  Michael has been coughing and is quite congested which means that this mama doesn’t sleep well either at night. The humidifier is doing a decent job, but we thought he needed more “help” with his congestion (no sleep for Michael or I these past two nights.) I had noticed the RazBaby Raz Clip earlier last week and thought, “Huh! That sounds like a good idea! Maybe we’ll try that out next time Michael gets sicks.” Lo-and –behold, he did earlier this week. I kinda blame it on being outside all day Saturday at a birthday party when the weather was yucky outside. Back to the RazBaby. Tonight is the first night of us using it and am hoping that it helps with Michaels breathing, hopefully this and the humidifier do wonders tonight.  So wish us luck tonight and plenty of Zzzs! I’ll add a wee little update to how our night went with the RazBaby.

So we tried it for two days and two nights. I have to say that this works pretty well. It kept all of his mucus away while he wore it. I love the fact that it’s not so gooey and messy like the stuff from the jar. Plus it’s portable! I’ll definitely be using this again if/when we need it.
